Dear John

Sunday, May 30, 2010

Dear John,

I'm writing this blog post inside starbucks drinking my favorite
drink, Dark mocha Frappucino. Well, coffee does inspire me and let my
feelings flow smoothly, the same thing how alcohol affect me. It's a
shame that we didn't had a chance to see each other today since we got
into a fight because of what you did, oh wait what you didn't do which
is show interest on me.Last Friday, I understand that you have work
that is from 8 am to 12am that day and you left your phone that's why
we didn't have a chance to talk because when you got home I am already
asleep. And last Thursday, you said that this Sunday's meetup is quite
impossible since you have church and your grandma will leave the
country, but u'll manage to squeeze me in your day, well thanks!
Everything I do understand, but what I dnt understand is when you wake
up Saturday, you didn't even managed to ask me how I am and what
happened to me yesterdAy, oh yeah you're going to work. And oh yeah,
you missed one important part of my life.

Another what I don't understand is when you got home and talk to me,
You act like evrything is ok, have you not paying attention? I'm mad,
well not mad really more of like "tampo".But what you did?you got mad
for acting like I don't care and I don't understand you, have you
understand me?

If your saying that you wish I was more considerate and understanding
with your situation, have you not been seeing that I understand you
well, even when your online, sometimes you don't talk,we barely see
each other well except last week. But, you see can you understand me?
I sometimes need a break, i need your prescence even that's the
scenario.I need you to pay attention what's our case and care what I
feel. We are both new to this working thing. And I don't know anymore
how to approach this changes

I hope this post finds you. I hope u'll understand what I'm
feeling.you know that I love you so much, but if you think that I'm
the only one who needs to understand then I think we are not in the
same page anymore. You know me John, I love attention, one of the
reasons why I love you because I got so much attention from you, but
it's not the case now. I wish you understand me clearly now.

Love,
Kaye

The hooking factor of music videos on you

Friday, May 28, 2010

I love listening to music and watching music videos of the songs I like. Most of the times, I like a song more because I like its music video. So, how does the song catches my attention? Two things, tunes and/or lyrics. It must have a good tunes, catchy and doesn't hurt my ear (I don't like screaming singers).

Enough about that, let's talk about music videos. I want to ask you, does music videos make you like or hate a song from the start?  Does it make you like the song more? I believe that in some point music videos can draw attention to listeners to like this song. It's like marketing, they are marketing the song by giving visuals for listeners to understand the message and give you a feel of the song or just to feature the song in some kind of way.

I'll give some of the songs that because of the video I got addicted to the song.

  1. Poker Face - yep! Poker face capture my attention then made me love Lady Gaga. Ever since I watched that video, I just loved her!
  2. Knock You Down - Do I need to say more? Kanye West, Keri Hilson and NeYo were awesome in that video and the tunes and lyrics is addicting too.
  3. Darling, It's true - I like Locksley, because of their  single "The Whip", so I listened to their album and liked "Darling, It's True"also. BUT, when I watched their video earlier, and I super liked their video, I just can't get enough of it and that song was on replay mode in my iPod.

Those are just the few music videos that got me hooked to the song. So? How strong is the hooking facot of music videos on you.

To celebrate my 1000th tweet

Wednesday, May 26, 2010

This post is for the celebration for a mark in my twitter history,  my 1000th post. Well the best way to celebrate it is to remember my journey in Twitter.

When did I start on Twitter?
I started tweeting on January 5, 2009. And like any other hobbies, I am on and off on tweeting that's why I just reached my 1000th post after 16 months.

Why did I decided to create a Twitter account?
Out of curiosity. And after I created, I didn't like it at first so I started using Plurk, but then after one month of using Plurk, I didn't like it. Compare to Twitter, Plurk is nowhere near Twitter's user friendliness. Twitter's easy and simple. Plurk your updates is plotted on a timeline which I don't like. And also, it seems like it's easy to connect to the world with Twitter, with Plurk it seems like your stuck with your friends with regards to sharing tweets.  Since then, I loved Twitter.

What do you like about Twitter?
I've learned so many things in Twitter, from quotes to facts to everything under the sun. I have made few laughs and WOWs to things that people tweet. I also connect with few stars and singers and know more about them. I have so much fun with twitter, and now I tweet a lot everyday.

That's all! I wish you join Twitter and Follow ME :) @kathieyakie. Let's tweet tweet together!

Cutest earphones ever

Tuesday, May 25, 2010

My Apple earphones the one that comes with my iPhone, is nearing death. Well the earbuds are alright but the control is not working anymore and I don't know if the MIC does also after almost 6 months of usage. Yup! no earphones have been with me for a year, I'm just not careful with my earphones. Earlier, I bought new one, not because I'm looking for it, but it found me! LOL, well my friend did. Super cute Hello Kitty earphones, as you all know I love Hello Kitty and it's pink!! It is also available in white but I like the pink one. Now she kicked my Apple earphones straight to retirement. LOL. But, there's something missing in this earphone, MIC. But who cares? I can remove my earphones and answer my phone, hassle? Yeah. But it's still Hello Kitty so I don't mind, maybe in the future I will, but not today.

Hello Kitty Villa

I've been a hello kitty addict since, well last month. But not really last month more of like since I was a child but like any relationship it goes on and off. Like any hardcore Hello Kitty Fan, there's this dream to go to places where hello kitty dominates. Like, Sanrio Puroland at Japan and also at this Hello Kitty Villa in Taipei. Yes! You heard me right, a villa well inside a resort of course, I think it is worth 16000 Taiwan Money I don't know if it is per night or maybe it is a package already. It comes with a free meal (I don't know if it will cover your breakfast, lunch and dinner).

I really love the house, the exteriors and also the furniture inside, OMGOSH! SO CUTE! I can live here in my entire life! I hope you enjoyed the pictures, if you have been here and you have pictures please let me see it and I'll envy you so much! :) SOMEDAY I'll be there even for just a night!

Monday, May 24, 2010

I never regret that I open the link and hit the play button. Now,I cannot pass the chance of sharing it with you. This  girl has an amazing talent, it can imagine Michael Jackson was really dancing those steps in the table. LOL. I hope you enjoyed this short video as much as I did.

Season finale gets emotional

Sunday, May 23, 2010

One emotional day for me, not that I have problem or whatever but it is because of the season finale's that I have watched. I got a habit of watching few series (like Gossip Girl, 90210, Glee, Vampire Diaries and etc.) on my LCD TV since I want to maximize the HD copy of a certain show. And why not? It's so much better to watch it on a big screen with the sound of the home theater! Ooh Lala!

Since I have work, I squeezed all shows in the my weekend-watching. Last week most of the series' I am watching has ended. So sad. Nothing to watch out for every week, luckily I still have Glee and the Big Bang theory. Yes thank you GOD! So this day I watched the three series (Gossip Girl, 90210 and Vampire Diaries) and it made me so sad, Sorry I can be easily affected by story you know.

Here's why :
  1. Gossip Girl : OMG. From all the series, this one's my fave. So many issues, so many twists. The revelations: Jenny had sex with Chuck?? Really? Didn't seen that one coming and this is the reason the Chair fans loses their hope of seeing Blair and Chuck together again. SAD SAD SAD!  Next, Chuck got shot and now nearing death!! OH NO! I love Chuck and CW don't you ever remove Chuck Bass from the show, he's my only love. So that's pure sadness!  Next Georgina is pregnant with Dan oh my!!
  2. 90210: Not much. Seems everything is resolved except now Annie will tell the truth to her parents that she accidentally killed someone, now that's something
  3. Vampire Diaries: There's so many things happened in this finale episode. But I'll mention the things that sadden me. One, Anna is dead!, second, there will be trouble between Elena, Damon and Stefan since Katherine is back and Damon thought she kissed Elena but she really kissed Katherine and her aunt saw it, so OMG I smell trouble, and also Elena's biological father died. And Oh, Jeremy's going to be a vampire!!! Now that's is something to watch out for.
Now, I want to thank CW for giving me a good time with watching this AWESOME Series'.

Oh my SHREK!

One word, FUNNY! I love Shrek, all four movies. Since it's the last chapter of Shrek it's kind of sad since, this funny guy will be gone forever in the big screen. Well what can I say about the last chapter, when we talk about the comedy meter, well it was super funny, especially Donkey and Puss. But, in the romance meter, well what can I say  Shrek:Forever After definitely won the award, I cried in the end, so sweet! I was touched in the scene where Shrek said to Fiona, "You know the best part of my day is? Having the chance to fall in love with you again", OMG! tears rolling out of my eyes already after that line, it's the sweetest line ever.

This final chapter gave The whole Shrek series a good ending and an ending with a BANG! It's clever to make a story that the characters will portray different roles and personalities as well, so I like how they did with Puss and Fiona.

Well if your asking about how's the 3D version of the movie, well it's good, I can't  explain the technical details of how it looks like. LOL.But, definitely worth your money. So If you're looking for something you can watch and laugh along and also be amazed, watch Shrek 3D and you'll never regret it.

Never underestimate the power of SMILE

Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it's breaking.
When there are clouds in the sky
you'll get by.

If you smile through your pain and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun shining through
For you.

I love smiling. Do you know that you use up more muscles when you frown than of smiling? So, it's really tiring to frown plus you'll look old much faster since it creates wrinkles, so girls no-no to frown.

I believe that if we all smile, it can make a better world to live in. Smile your worries away like the song of Charlie Chaplin above, great song isn't it?  One smile can make your day better, especially when you share your smile to your friends, your colleagues, to someone from the store where you buy coffee in the morning, and also to strangers especially to frowning strangers , your smile can make a difference to you and to others, so go ahead smile.

you know when I'm walking my way to work, some folks (security guards) from a hotel I passed by, when they greet me "Good Morning" with a smile, I say the same and smile back, after that moment I feel so happy and light because we shared a smile that can make a difference to our day. So remember the saying, "Frown and you frown alone, Smile and the whole world smiles with you". You don't want to be alone do you?

Are you waiting for your rocket to come?

Saturday, May 22, 2010

I think from the song of Jason's Mraz song "Curbside Prophet" well the way I interpret it, is that the rocket is a metaphor for a chance that can change your life and fly you off to the moon. You might be waiting for the chance to be rich, famous, a big promotion you've been waiting for, the right man, the right girl, family and etc. Everybody's waiting for something, and it depends on the person, his/her needs.

You know, this chance may come or may not come, only destiny will decide. But, whatever it is you're waiting for keep holding on, you might be surprised that you're rocket will be much much better than you wanted. I have been waiting for a certain rocket to come, but I realized it's not possible to come, so I just stopped hoping and moved on and be happy on what I am now, besides, I'm waiting for a new rocket to come *wink*.

Well, I believe everybody's waiting for their rocket to come. And for those who got their rocket, well good for you!

Eating Fast Food Abroad

Friday, May 21, 2010

I am not adventurous when it comes to food, I don't like chinese food, or thai, or korean. That's why, when I'm out of the country I eat fast food. They said that when you visit a country, you should at least eat their delicacies, well that's true but eating fast food has its own benefits, well at least for me.

I don't travel much, just a few countries I've been to and just only once I ate Chinese food, in HK Disney Land, well it's not even authentic I guess. I'll give few tips on what and where to eat just in case you want to grab some fast food when you're out of the country ( WARNING :This is just a very short list, I'll just mention the foods that are worth noting for)

1. Hong Kong
  • I LOVE KFC of Hong Kong. Why? Their chicken is much tastier than of here in the Philippines. Their chicken come in twos and you can choose your side dish, either mushroom rice, criss-cut fries and etc. I always order Criss-cut fries because it's something new to me.
  • I DONT LIKE THEIR MCDO. The burger don't taste good, it's kind of spicy. I don't dig spicy food so if you like some hotness then you might like this one. But their chicken nuggets is good, although you have to order the sweet and sour sauce rather than Philppine's favorite BBQ sauce, because their BBQ sauce isn't that good.
  • I LOVE YOU PIZZA HUT . I love hk's pizza hut. Their PH is not the same here in the Philippines, the pizza hut is that the setting is more like of a fine dining (but really not close just the setting and ambience). Pizza is good and pasta is divine, and the most of all, the dessert OMG! I super duper love the molten chocolate cake ( I can't remember if that's the name but it's all chocolate and it's molten cake so... there). Don't you dare miss eating @ pizza hut :)
2. Singapore
  • Their fast foods are nothing special but in kopitiam (Food Court) in one mall (Can't remember what mall), I like the breaded pork they sell. Sorry if there's no much details because I can't remember where and what store. LOL. But the point of this is that their kopitiam isn't that bad, it's delicious so it's a must try, it's near eating their delicacies I think.
3. Malaysia
  • MCDO . The nuggets is good, and again order the Sweet and Sour sauce because it's much better than BBQ Sauce. But the McFlurry, OMG. It's much bigger than of the Philippines, they have Cornetto McFlurry Imagine that! And it's 2-3x bigger than we have here so, it is one real ice cream treat! and it's delicious too! :)
4. Thailand
  • Before, I don't eat at Burger King, but after I ate Chicken Sandwich here at Thailand's Burger King, gosh, I loved Burger King ever since, so that trip is memorable to me even we just stayed their overnight, BUMMER right?? Blame it to the flight we got from Malaysia to Thailand.
So stop by to the fast foods that I had mentioned if you happen to visit that country, because each country has its own version of the food, well mostly not all. Hope you find my post very informative.

The more you hate, the more you write

Thursday, May 20, 2010

Sometimes this is true, emotions comes out flawless when you hate someone and you're talking to that person. This maybe doesn't apply to all but it applies to me. The more you hate, the more you write. the more emotions you feel the more words are placing perfectly one by one to produce a sentence that is sharper than the knife. Of course, there are cases that you wouldn't want to offend someone, but let's go back to the phrase, the more you hate. If you care about someone, even though you're mad you'll stop yourself saying awful things because you're afraid to hurt that person, well you don't hate that person that much.

I've been observing that some people, when they're mad, they tend to speak English fluently when they are saying their feelings, getting all emotionally mad. This is because emotions come out so easily, when you love that person,so much, emotions come out naturally. You even tend to add flowery words to the sentence.

Emotions can really do a ton of things. There's even a saying, that don't make decision when you're mad. Because we're so carried away with the emotions we tend to slip away from our normal behavior.

The Chemistry of Geek Running

Wednesday, May 19, 2010

I love Running, especially in the morning. Well, I haven't tried running in the afternoon or in the night time well just because the place where I run is only open until 6 pm. And I always run with an empty stomach, since I'm having a hard time running with I drink/ate something, I feel pain in my stomach.

Why I love running? Because of the feeling when the air touches my face constantly. The carefree feeling. The freedom. Do I need to say more?

But, every love there's a weak spot. For me, my weak spot is waking up in the morning. It's hard for me to wake up especially when I slept late the previous night. But, after waking up and I washed my face, I am very good to go.

Every hobby, there are essentials.  My essentials, are the basic + advanced essentials. What do I mean? Well the basic are:
  1. Running shoes : this is the basic, well make sure that the shoes are comfortable and fits perfectly because it is important that you run comfortably.
  2. Towel
  3. Water Jug - well, I don't always bring water since I'm kind of lazy to bring my own water, but I think it's essential.
I think that's the basic essentials, but since I'm the geek runner I have my own list of essentials that is added to the basic:

  1. This is in reference to the running shoes:  my shoes are Nike+. Why? Because the Nike+ shoes have a built-in pocket where you put the Nike+ Sensor.
  2. The Nike+ Sensor, since my iPhone already recognizes the sensor, I don't need the dongle that came along with the kit. This sensor gives feedback and tracks all your runs. Like the kilometer/miles,  time, pace and calories burned. So when you plug your iPhone/ Ipod it automatically sends the data to Nike.com
  3. Ofcourse my iPhone. Since it is needed for the sensor to work. And also, I want to run with my music. I never run without music.
That's how I run, maybe you can share how you run to me email me at meltingsorbetes@yahoo.com

Beautiful Moon

Sunday, May 16, 2010

I just want to share this beautiful picture that I have found in twitter.

Today, May 15, the moon appears closest to Venus. The effect to Venus is that the planet is currently experiencing eclipse.  I guess Philippines is lucky to have this sight available to us.

This is picture is from ImAlbertAlinsob of Twitter

Don't measure the looks, measure the wallet.

Did you sometimes feel discriminated when you walk in on a store or any restaurant, and since you look like you're just hanging out at your house and the staff ignores you. Because, you look you don't have any money, well in fact you have thousands at your wallet and you just want to dressed comfortably.

Here's a problem I see most of the time in stores/malls/ restaurants. I've heard a lot of stories, and I also experienced some of this. I'll tell you few stories that I have heard and also the ones I've experienced.

Story 1: I want a Benz.
This story was told to me by my boyfriend couple of years ago. You know in EDSA where there are car stores lined-up, there's Audi, porsche, BMW and etc. Well, a man that is wearing a sando and shorts with a backpack, went to one of this stores. And ask for a certain car (I can't remember what brand), since he looks like he doesn't have any money, the staff ignored him and said, "Do you think I don't have any money? I can buy that car, in cash", then he showed his money in his backpack, the staff was apologetic about it but he left the store and went to the store beside it and bought himself a new luxury car.

Story 2: Who can give you a tip, this much?
Well my neighbor's friend came home from Japan to have a vacation. So she went to Bench Fix, to fix her hair. On the reception desk, the staff totally ignores her, maybe they think this person don't have any money to pay them. Then finally, she spoke to them, in fluent English, and the staff was shocked. She said, "Did you ever had a customer than can tip you, P 2000?" well I didn't remember some things she said but you get the point, the staff was apologetic and they gave her the service she asked, which is worth P15000.

Story 3: The pedicab Ride.
Early this morning, we went to the mall to buy us some ice cream, when we go to the mall, the one that is walking distance from our house we don't usually dress up, ever. So when we go home, we took a pedicab because it's so hot to walk. So the pedicab usually cost 10 pesos. When we got off the pedicab, my mama grabs in her pockets some coins to pay the man, she was careful in grabbing since she have a thousand pesos in her pocket it might fall. The pedicab driver said ," Wala naman pala kayo pambayad", since mama was shocked, she took out one thousand and five hundred pesos, so she can easily grab the coins, the driver was speechless.

Those are just few stories I have heard and experienced. There are really judgmental people and there's nothing we can do about it. I hope they realize that every person that comes in to their shop is a potential customer.

Category B-L-O-G-I-DONT-READ.

Saturday, May 15, 2010

I've read several blogs that have interesting contents. Sometimes, the blogs became the reflection of their personality. These blogs that I have read have their own style of writing, and own style of creating a story to post. But, these are the ones I don't like to read.

Me, myself, and I blogs
There are several blogs that falls under this type. The contents of these blogs were merely about themselves only and what they did for the day. Well, this is what blogs are for right? To express feelings, it might serve as a journal or a diary. But sometimes, the details are not that interesting especially what happened to his/her day is the same as what happens to most of us. But, there are blogs that falls under this type, they post the details of their day, but they don't sound boring, because the way they see things and the way they express it is fun to read. Well, one word, TALENT. That my friend is something that doesn't exist in all blog authors.

I am profound, I use deep words
I admit, I'm definitely not one of those people that know several deep words. I'm not gifted to know such words and I think of those people as lucky. These words I understand when used in a sentence, but if you tell that word alone to me, I might give you my stupid face. Don't get me wrong but I like seeing deep words in books like novels and such but in blogs, not so much. Why? blogs should be easier to read. If they want their readers to understand what they're saying and feel the things the bloggers say then they must have simple words to make it un-stressful to read. Maybe there are couple of people that have violent reactions to what I just wrote, pardon me but I really don't see the need to use deep words to express what they say.

DISCLAIMER:

I just want to clarify that I don't hate anyone or hold grudge on some specific authors. I'm not pinpointing blogs here. I just want to say the things I don't like in a blog. Besides, I don't read the blog because of the author, I read the blog because of the contents that amuse me.

Sentiments from the 2010 elections

Friday, May 14, 2010

I have never cared so much who is sleeping in the master's bedroom of the Malacanang Palace. But during GMA's era and her series of scandals the future of Philippines are being thrown in a trashcan, I realized we need someone to save us from the state we are in. Someone who can bravely face the problems we are currently in.

So, this past election I voted for Gibo Teodoro. Why? Because of his great vision, different leadership, great track record, and great personality. I won't elaborate more since it's useless, people of the Philippines has already spoken, and they want Noy Noy Aquino to lead us and our country.  It's a shame. Why? Because the next 6 years could be wonderful years of different change, not the usual," I will remove all the corrupt leaders in the country" and "I will stop poverty" plan like Noy Noy is offering us. Does he know that it's not that easy to do that? Even her Mother, with due respect to Cory Aquino, didn't succeed.  The leadership Gibo is offering us is something to watch-out-for, that's why I'm sad to see how the elections went through. Well, it's sad to say that there are so many people that are emotional, maybe they pity NoyNoy because of what happened to his family(because of his ads) or they still have hangover of the People Power or they just want a safe choice.

What I don't like about NoyNoy. First, after 12 years in the politics, he didn't care to pass a bill. Second, still after 12 years in the politics didn't do anything about the Hacienda Luisita Scandal. Third, the decision to run for presidency is based on the people who asked him to, not his own. Fourth, he didn't practice "the daang matuwid" in his own campaign, during the mudslinging of Villar and Aquino. Sagutin daw ba ang paninira ni Villar with a paninira din. Childish move.

My sentiments may not be important to you, but is important to all the Gibo supporters and me. I hope for those who voted for Noy Noy especially the parents, did think that they are voting for their children since the people who will be benefiting on the success of the next president is their children and the next generation thereafter.

But in the end we cannot change the fact that Noy Noy is the president now well not officialy, and the journey of Gibo Teodoro doesn't end when he lost the presidential race. I'm still hoping for the CHANGE for a better Philippines.

If you want to read more sentiments from Gibo supporters you can view this blog: http://enuhski.tumblr.com/

Thanks for reading.

If I would be the next president

If I would be the president of the Philippines, you know what the first thing I’ll do is generate jobs. Because if there are more jobs for the people even for the people who didn’t graduate to the top 3 school here in the Philippines there will be a job waiting for them. This means more people paying taxes, which mean I can lower the taxes that we pay on things that we buy and especially we eat. This will lower the burden for the people especially the poor. This will be a win-win situation for the country and also its people since if they have jobs they can sustain their selves and their family.

If there are more taxes, there is more budget to spend.  Education comes second, I will give free education from Elementary to High school, I’ll build several schools that are near the students so they won’t have to travel far just to study, and also it will not be 50 students sharing one classroom. The ratio of the books should also be one is to one. Not one book to 50 students, how can a student understand the lesson if he can barely see the books. You see, I believe that education is a real treasure for a person.  Education can also help boost the self esteem and also the self confidence of a person.

For me, that will be my first steps for a greater tomorrow. I hope the new president of the Philippines will see this as well. We’ve been waiting for a brighter tomorrow for us and the next generation.

That Starbucks Store

Do you know how it's hard for me to pass Starbucks on the way to work without buying anything? Especially when I'm walking under the sun on my way to the office. I just want to grab a frappuccino and ease the feeling of being cooked inside an oven. Well, since during my first month of working after college, my mom gave me allowance enough to buy me a Starbucks drink and have lunch outs everyday and still enough to pay for my transportation going home.

Well, that was before. Now, I'm earning my money, I'd rather drink free coffee at the office, at the nice little vendo machine, than to pay P150 (well I can use that money to buy me other things, right? ) Now it's really not that hard for me to ignore the Starbucks store that I passed by everyday.

I realized that it's not that easy to splurge into something that you know you can buy something else when your hard earned money is at stake. But, it doesn't hurt if I buy my favorite Dark Mocha Frappucino when I'm really craving for it, besides I need to pamper myself sometimes right?

thank you rterucha.multiply.com for the picture :)

Why Melting Sorbetes?

Tuesday, May 11, 2010

So, why did I name my blog "Melting Sorbetes"? First if there someone reading this that doesn't understand what does sorbetes means, it's a tagalog term for Ice cream/Sorbet.

I will not pretend that I named my blog based on my life, my personality, whatever deep thoughts I can describe in order for my blog name to be acceptable, because it's just stupid to pretend something that it's not just to please readers, others do it well I don't. Sorry to disappoint you but I named my blog Melting Sorbetes, because I like how it sounds. Silly? Not to me.

I will not describe what will be the content of this blog since it's just pure random. I'll just blog whatever I feel to blog, besides it's my blog if you don't like it then create your own blog. LOL.

Hope you'll enjoy my topics I will post in this blog.

TNP(till next post). Continue Melting . :-)
